If you’re searching for a Williamsburg VA newborn photographer who offers both studio and lifestyle-inspired sessions, you’re in the right place. Newborn photography is one of my favorite specialties because it allows families to slow down and preserve those first fleeting days.
Studio Newborn Photography in Williamsburg VA
As a Williamsburg VA newborn photographer, there is nothing more meaningful to me than watching a family grow over the years. George’s session was especially special because I had the honor of photographing both of his big sisters during their first years.
Back when their momma, Galina, was expecting Isla, she had experienced a loss and was a little timid about pregnancy. They hired me for a mini maternity session (a promo I was running at the time) as sort of a trial run before committing to a First Year Collection. They loved their images and booked immediately.

With Pippa- they were so much more confident! Isla was just about two years old so she wasn’t so sold on the idea of a baby sister… or at least not taking pictures with her! I pulled out some of my best tricks to get some insanely beautiful shots of them together.
Then came George. Boy, was I surprised to get that email (pun slightly intended!) This time around they signed on as ambassadors. Having two preschoolers participating in a newborn session should be easier than one toddler, right? It was pretty challenging to get both of them to cooperate at the same time but you’d never know it by looking at their final images! There was a few moments where I was sweating it- but seeing Isla and Pippa dote on Baby George was so heartwarming. They are already wonderful big sisters and they are just a few weeks in!
Having their parents relax in the client lounge while their girls played and I worked with their baby in the next room was one of the best feelings- these parents trusted me SO much that they were completely comfortable leaving me to pose their baby while having lunch and chatting in the adjoining room. I strive for that level of comfort for each and every one of my clients. It’s not uncommon for dads nap on the bed in the lifestyle room!

Why Experience Matters in Newborn Photography
From the moment you enter my studio, I want you to feel comfortable and relaxed. I have a dedicated client lounge with comfy seating and a charging station. A snack tray and refrigerator with an array of drinks. You’ll find a stocked changing table and toys for your older kids. Each room has a celling fan that you can control. We can play music or let it be quiet and still. My exclusive bathroom has a long counter that’s perfect for tending to your hair and make up before parent shots and there’s a lifestyle room if you want to take a rest on the queen sized bed or spread the family out a little bit.
If you google “Williamsburg VA newborn photographer” you’ll find many options. Some have a great portfolio and some are just getting started. I am one of the most seasoned and longest running newborn photographers in Williamsburg. Newborn photography isn’t a genre you can just start in or pivot to. There a great deal of training and patience involved. Safety is the most important thing in newborn photography- not props, not reviews, not google ranking. And that is what makes me one of the most trusted newborn photographers in Williamsburg: experience, training, skill, and a proven track record.

Booking Your Williamsburg VA Newborn Photographer
Babies don’t keep a schedule. They come when they are good and ready. In order to accommodate early and late births, I only book four due dates each month. You won’t believe how many times all four due dates deliver in the SAME week! I intentionally limit my calendar to four due dates each month so that every family receives the time, patience, and attention newborn photography requires. Families should book their newborn session before the end of their second trimester to ensure availability. Booking in the first half is even better!
This is why booking that newborn photography session matters: One thing I can’t get over is how much George looks like his sisters, especially Isla. She will be heading off to kindergarten soon. I can’t help but wonder what George will be like when he turns five. And then I think about their parents. I wonder what these images are going to mean to them when they have three kids who are 10, 8 and 5. Will George be quiet and gentle? Will the images of the girls snugging him become preview of what was to come? Or will he grow up to be a rowdy and pesky little brother? Perhaps the images of him wrapped up and sleeping peacefully will be the glue that holds them together through those tumultuous years? (spoken from personal experience!) Only time will tell.
